Our high-quality socks are designed right here in our little Mansfield office and manufactured by a 2nd generation family run company in Turkey, who like us, are constantly taking steps towards a more sustainable way of life.
Listed below are the materials we use here at Cub Rocks and why…
Sustainable Cotton:
We choose to use sustainable cotton in all our socks, that has been produced with the environment in mind. This is done through minimising the negative effects of fertilisers and pesticides, and caring for water, soil health and natural habitats. Also committing to decent work principles, supporting workers’ safety and wellbeing.
By shopping more sustainably does not mean you are sacrificing quality, far from it. Our sustainable cotton is strong and resilient, yet comfortable and soft on the skin too.
Bamboo Viscose:
Much of our school range is made using bamboo. With kids spending a lot of their week in the classroom or running around in the playground, it is vital that our socks are comfortable and go the miles.
So why use bamboo? Well, did you know that bamboo is the fastest growing plant on the planet, requiring only rainwater to help it grow and thrive. After being harvested, it continues to grow new shoots from its root system, so can be grown and harvested again and again with minimal harm to the environment. Bamboo requires no chemicals, pesticides, or fertiliser to help it grow and every part of the plant can be used, so in effect, is a zero-waste product.
The viscose in our socks comes from the pulp of bamboo. Bamboo is super soft and naturally breathable, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. The perfect option for kids with sensitive skin and eczema, due to being naturally hypo-allergenic too.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle...
Mailing Bags - Our mail bags are durable, water-resistant and 100% recyclable. We source these mailing bags locally to further reduce carbon footprint.
Inner Packaging (Wholesale only) - We use little bags to protect our packs of socks, not just during transit, but at the factory too. They are a little extra something to keep dust and dirt at bay and is added protection from the good old British weather. They also make great sandwich bags once serving their initial purpose. Let us know how you reuse yours!
Wrap Label - Our wrap labels play several important roles here at Cub Rocks. Not only are they essential in keeping together our super socks, they also provide all relevant information such as sizing, washing instructions and material composition. Finally, to encourage the reuse of this little wrap around and to provide a little bit of entertainment, we have included a woodland scene for your youngsters to colour in.
